BAP students impress at Oceania conference
10 May 2017
Two of our accounting students recently flew to Australia to attend Beta Alpha Psi'a Oceania Regional Conference 2017, hosted by BAP's University of Sydney chapter.
Student members from BAP chapters throughout New Zealand and Australia were invited to attend the conference, which was packed with competitions, networking, motivational speeches and leadership insights.
Anna Caudwell, 20, and Rachel Southee, 24, were fortunate to represent BAP - University of Waikato at the event, where they met Beta Alpha Psi's US president, Professor Merle Hopkins, and Oceania regional advocate, Dr Brett Govendir.
"I was impressed by their intelligence, poise and maturity," says Janine Fellow, a teaching fellow in accounting at the University of Sydney's Abercrombie Business School, who organised the conference.
"If Rachel and Anna are typical of your students, then Waikato must be a great place!"
Anna is in her third year of a Bachelor of Management Studies degree, majoring in Accounting and Economics.
Rachel took an elective paper in accounting last year as part of her Bachelor of Engineering degree.
